The year 2009 is ending in less than a week’s time and it has been a difficult and challenging year for all of us. It was also a year with a sea of changes for Sengkang Punggol Football Club whereby the Club had to re-organize an almost brand new Committee Team in the middle of the season and undergo massive renovations to its various facilities. All these changes were made in line with our bold, forward-looking attitude.
Our new membership has increased some 20% for the last 6 months and we are awaiting our new additional jackpot machines to be allotted to us by the Police Licensing Office. Our football pitch has been awarded by the Singapore Sports Council as
'The Best Maintained Pitch’ amongst the S-League stadiums. Within the team itself, our S-League football team has a new Head Coach (Mr. Aide Iskandar Bin Sahak), a new Team Manager and 2 new foreign players who will definitely be contributing to our new season.
The Club continues to thrive and it is good to see some positive changes in the second half of 2009. Next year, 2010 should see us with a full compliment of both young but capable local and foreign players to improve our standings in the S-League.
On a side note, I would like to give credit to all our fans who have been offering us their earnest and constructive comments, most notably in the form of an online forum, “
Fish Out of Water”. Although we have received our fair share of harsh comments at times, we have been given invaluable cue to advance to the next frontier with confidence.
I assure all of you that 2010 will be a watershed year for SPFC. This is not our hope; this will be the commitment from our new management.
We believe in the long-term sustainability of our club, and that is why we have extended our outreach to the Community Development Councils as well as local schools. An example is the Sengkang Punggol Youth Football club, a school-based recreational football team that plays in the social league in order to encourage more youths to hone in their potential. We hope to educate the public on the beautiful game, as well as fully employ this opportunity to nurture new Singaporean talents and groom them into our Prime League team.
One of the most important agenda the committee has to fulfill is to manage the club’s budget, and ensure our expenditure and income are kept in balance in the unforeseen financial year of 2010.
In my humble opinion, I feel that we have done well in the face of so many unanticipated changes in the Club. I salute the new Committee Team, all the players and staff of the Club who have done well together to put up a good performance in 2009. Thank you for the generous time and effort sacrificed to make the club a better one. I truly appreciate the positive contributions which all of you have given for the progress of the Club.
I should say that the Club’s most important asset is our
human resource. I am proud to say that we have many hard-working, committed, selfless and diligent staff and players in the Club. I believe and I must emphasize again that
customer service is what will make the club stand out in the face of intense competition in the era of Integrated Resorts. Thus, providing excellent customer service will be our top priority for 2010.
In closing, I wish to whole-heartedly thank all those who have served with us as players, coaches, staff and management committee members in the past season. SPFC is what it is today because of their contributions. Let’s work together to bring the club to greater heights.
There is only one direction for us; and that is us getting better each day.
Yours Sincerely,
Bill Ng
Chairman

The SPFC Management is once again happy to inform all club supporters that Sengkang Punggol FC's Official Website has undergone
several changes in anticipation of the new 2010 season.
Apart from the updating of our team's fixtures and results in the S.League 2009 Season, there is now comprehensive statistics of our team's performance

too has undergone broad moderation across all topics.
With a streamlined website now in place to provide both an all-inclusive and comfortable experience for our readers, this is in line with SPFC's constant push for progressive improvement.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all constructive feedback and support received to date!
